Summer Happenings on the Farm

Boys giving the crowd a photo op

It’s been jam-packed the past few weeks on the farm.  We hosted the super successful Mini Cavali event last weekend in June.  This annual fundraiser benefits Helping Our Miniature Equines and is their largest event of the year.  Over 140 tickets were sold to gather here at the farm and enjoy food, drinks, the superstar Friesians performing, and some amazing auction items.  We even offered the opportunity to ride one of the boys which was a huge hit for kids and adults alike.  Even the event auctioneer had a ride.  This is the main fundraiser for their organization each year and brings in donations for feed, and veterinary care, and allows them to rescue new animals that are in desperate need of a safe landing.  Once again, we heard from so many attendees what a wonderful time they had and how much they loved their afternoon at Black Horse Farm.  It is such a special feeling to share this magical place with so many people.

July 1st, we hauled the boys back to our old home turf (aka Bridle Trails State Park) to perform at the event “Picnic with Ponies.” The Bridle Trails Park Foundation hosted this free community event as a way to allow the public to enjoy horse entertainment and spend an afternoon in this extraordinary equestrian/pedestrian park.  Galahad, Eros, and Zeus performed their liberty act twice at this event and spent a couple of hours before and after performances greeting hundreds of fans, both new and old.  These boys love meeting people and spending time as breed ambassadors getting adoration from their fans.

We will round out July by having world-renowned Liberty trainer Syliva Zerbini come to the farm from her home in Florida for a private clinic with the boys.  I am so excited to watch her work with Juliette and the boys and fine-tune everything Juliette has been working on.  Perfect timing to get the act razor sharp before we perform for the huge audiences at the State Fair in August.
